Telling That Story documents twenty-five years of intercultural performance by renowned Australian dance theatre company Marrugeku. “Critical to the company’s success is its development of new choreographic and dramaturgical processes that are both intercultural and Indigenous in principle, practice and ethos…[Telling That Story is] a rich array of essays, scripts, interviews, photographs, reviews and reflections with contributions by company members, critics, scholars, collaborators and Indigenous leaders. to political dance theatre.

The design weaves academic commentary with performance and rehearsal imagery, script excerpts and interviews. Tones and textures of the twelve chapters of the book reflect the Australian landscape and compliment the aesthetic of performance pieces. A dynamic and clean layout facilitates reader movement through academic essays and political analysis and performance commentary.
